“A chaotic slutfest of a Substack.” - Rob Doyle

Deleted Scenes (2020-) is an ongoing project, comprising this newsletter and an event series.

Part of the newsletter is original reporting, with a focus on books and the people who write them along with memories of my sexual past. The other part is a report on pieces written by other people and my thoughts on the subject along with reflections on my sex life they inspire.

The event series is a bash I throw (roughly) once a month at a bar in Soho called Beasy. Patrons get smashed on cocktails and listen to some of the best authors working today, mostly the sex stuff (it’s also something of a hookup spot).

I’ve recently written for some magazines, including Interview, AnOther, Buffalo Zine and Plaster, and previously wrote for online literary forums masquerading as magazines.

I’m currently working on my first work of fiction. It centres on the themes of hypersexuality, shyness and teen melancholia. Also all the cigarettes I smoked and this cinematic and tragic romance brought back by Lana Del Rey.

If there’s something you think I should write about or if you would like to work with me, email pavlosjohnathan@gmail.com

For the sex scenes.

Who is Paul Johnathan?
